BLS Provider Course

Who should attend
Any healthcare worker who has a voluntary or professional duty to respond to a cardiac or respiratory emergency. This certification is a mandatory prerequisite for ACLS, PALS and ANLS. No prior certification required — AHA BLS Manual supplied prior to the course.

Registered Medical or Dental Practitioners, Interns, Junior Interns, Professional Nurses or Advanced Life Support Paramedics. Prerequisite: valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Certificate. Pre-course study materials (ACLS Provider Manual and Algorithm Memory Cards) must be completed before attending.

Who should attend
Healthcare professionals with a current AHA ACLS Provider Certificate. Particularly suited to EMS, Emergency Department and ICU staff, and medical practitioners who regularly participate in resuscitation. Prerequisite: current AHA ACLS Provider Certificate. A 444-page AHA ACLS Resource Text is supplied before the course.

Who should attend
Registered Medical or Dental Practitioners, Interns, Junior Interns, Professional Nurses or Advanced Life Support Paramedics. Prerequisite: valid AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider Certificate. Prior ACLS participation is recommended but not required. Pre-course materials supplied include the AHA PALS Providers Manual, algorithm memory cards, practice cases and a pre-course self-assessment test.

Healthcare professionals whose roles may involve managing or participating in newborn resuscitation. Based on the evidence-based Neonatal Resuscitation Program by the American Heart Association. Prerequisite: AHA BLS Provider Certificate. Pre-course materials include a 270-page Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation and Multimedia DVD-ROM.

International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)

Who should attend
Any registered medical professional — doctors, nurses and EMS staff — expected to assess and manage acute trauma. Both basic and advanced versions are offered. Course manual supplied beforehand for preparation. Pass requirement: written assessment minimum 74% and successful completion of a simulated scenario.
